Eco-friendly Rooms

Our echo purpose!

At our hotel, sustainability is part of our daily operations. For breakfast, we use only natural ingredients sourced directly from local producers at the “Feria del Agricultor,” avoiding plastic wrapping and cardboard packaging whenever possible.

All organic solid waste is either sent to a local pig farm or transformed into compost for our gardens through our on-site composting system. In addition, we separate waste for proper recycling, with clearly designated bins located throughout the hotel to make the process easy for both guests and staff.

We also invest in ongoing staff training to ensure proper waste sorting from all areas, including guest rooms. At our Reception and Reservations departments, we prioritize the use of recycled paper and limit printing to only what is strictly necessary.

Water and energy conservation are key priorities. Shower water is heated using a solar panel system, and all bathrooms are equipped with water-saving showerheads. Through our sustainability efforts, we encourage guests to adopt simple habits—such as turning off the tap while soaping or brushing their teeth—that can significantly reduce water and energy consumption.

Throughout the hotel, LED lighting has been installed due to its low energy consumption, long lifespan, reduced heat emission, and absence of mercury. Skylights in rooms and common areas allow for increased natural light, helping reduce the need for artificial lighting during the day.

Our maintenance team works daily to identify and address any equipment or lighting issues that could lead to unnecessary energy use.

Additionally, all toilets at Hotel Aranjuez are equipped with a high-efficiency suction system, using only 3.1 liters of water per flush. Each unit helps save up to 20,000 gallons of water annually. The water used in our toilets is collected rainwater, further supporting our commitment to sustainability.

In all of our public restrooms, we have installed waterless urinals, which save approximately 40,000 gallons of water per unit each year.

This is complemented by a preventive maintenance program aimed at detecting leaks or malfunctions in faucets and toilets. Our housekeeping team is also trained to promptly report any issues of this kind, ensuring efficient water use throughout the property.

Wherever possible, we have installed paper towel dispensers in our bathrooms. This helps reduce the use of cloth hand towels and, consequently, the water, electricity, and chemicals required for their washing. At the same time, we encourage both our guests and staff to use paper towels responsibly.
